Summer English Language Institute

(July 5- August 27, 2016)

The Summer English Language Institute (SELI) is an eight-week academic ESL program for international students at the college level. The summer institute is a continuation of the year-round academic program English Language Institute.

This program provides students 17 and older intensive academic English language and cultural learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom.  Counselors act as a resident assistant during the summer program and play a vital role in ensuring the program runs in a safe, educational, fun, and a friendly fashion. 

Counselor responsibilities for the 8-week program begin on July 5, 2016 and conclude on August 27, 2016, after the students complete the program.  Prior to the start of the program, hired counselors will have to meet for a Counselor Training session. This date is to be determined.

Summer Language Academy for High School students

(July 13-August 4, 2016)

The Summer Language Academy (SLA) is a three-week ESL summer camp for international students at high school level. This program provides students (ages 13-17) intensive English language and cultural learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom.  Counselors play a vital role in ensuring the program runs in a safe, educational, fun, and a friendly fashion.

Cultural Immersion Program

(August 5-August 26, 2016)

This 3-week English as a Second Language (ESL) program provide students with personalized classes that help students understand life in the United States. Students will have English language and cultural learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom. Counselors play a vital role in ensuring the program runs in a safe, educational, fun, and a friendly fashion.

All applications must be submitted online through the North Central College student employment site.


Priority will be given to applications submitted by April 17th, 2016
