China Studies Institute
This program - located on the campus of Peking University (China's Harvard) and ranked the 15th best university in the world by London Times - offers two main options. Students who want to devote themselves to Chinese language training full time (24 hours in-class instruction per week) enroll in the immersion rack; students who want to learn Chinese part time while taking other courses in English and engaging in internships can enroll in the non-immersion track. At least 14 courses are available in English; internships can be arranged in business, law, media, IT, NGOs, and non profits. Volunteering opportunities are available both on and off campus; a variety of student activities, excursions, and a two-week study trip round out the program.
Junior or Senior standing; GPA 3.0 preferred. Immersion track requires 3.0 GPA and one year of Chinese language study.
Housing and Meals
Students live in off-campus apartments with Chinese roommates. Meals not included.
