Master of Arts in Education Curriculum & Instruction Application Process
North Central College operates on a rolling admission basis in which completed applications are reviewed throughout the admission cycle. Students are advised to complete their application as early as possible to ensure timely consideration. Students can enroll four times a year: January, March, June, and September. Applications for admission and all supporting documents should be received in the Office of Graduate Admission by the following preferred decision deadlines:

Instructions for applying
To be considered for admission, students must possess a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university, possess a current teaching certificate and teaching experience. Submit the following items to the Office of Graduate Admission, and you can upload application materials here.
1. Complete the online application.
2. Official transcripts from every undergraduate, graduate or professional school attended. Each transcript must be signed and sealed by the Registrar of each institution.
3. A personal statement describing your professional and personal goals for pursuing a graduate degree.
4. A copy of your professional resume.
5. A copy of current teaching or Type 73 Certificate.
6. A letter from your district's personnel office indicating the length of your teaching experience.

Instructions for applying
To be considered for admission to the Master of Arts in Education Educational Leadership and Administration program, students must submit the following items to the Office of Graduate Admission, and you can upload application materials here:
1. Complete the online application.
2. Official transcripts from every undergraduate, graduate, or professional school attended. Each transcript must be signed and sealed by the Registrar of each institution.
3. A personal statement describing your knowledge about curriculum and instructional practices.
4. A copy of your professional resume. Please describe accomplished classroom instruction and leadership roles.
5. A copy of current teaching certificate
6. A letter from your district's personnel office indicating the length of your teaching experience.
7. Two Leadership Disposition Questionnaires. One questionnaire must be completed by a school administrator who holds a Type 75 certificate and the second questionnaire must be completed by the applicant.
Interview/Selection Process
After the Office of Graduate Admission receives all of the required application materials, applicant files are reviewed. Students selected for an interview will be notified of available dates and invited by the Office of Graduate Admission to schedule an on-campus interview.
A typical interview involves participation in the following activities, a meeting with a graduate advisor who will provide a preview of the program expectations and requirements which include a standards matrix, final porfolio rubric, and a pre-assessment of dispositions and leadership standards. Students are guided in setting up their course selection using an eighteen-month to five-year calendar of leadership courses that align with the student's goal. The interview also provides an opportunity for candidates to learn more about the leadership program, financial aide, and student services.
