In the Classroom

Geez I have not blogged in a long time, and for that, I apologize.

I have been uberly busy. I've had tons of meetings, which I have another at 7:00 tonight (When will they end?!?!) and practice and tons of homework and BLAH! It's just been a lot. I must say though, this term has been much better than last term. Last term at this time, I was struggling in all of my classes. This term, I have As in all of my classes! It's that my classes are a whole lot easier; I've just been much more on top of things. I've been doing my homework in a timely fashion, I've been (slightly) more productive on the weekends. It's been great! It's hard to do. You almost have to force yourself to not have a social life, at least I have. The only time I have for friends is on the weekends. It's rough, but I feel much better when I'm doing well academically. 

This term I am taking a class that requires a 20 hour practicum of field experience in the classroom! So, today was my second day. The first day, I just observed. But today I was able to interact with the students. It was cool to have the students walk into the classroom and recognize me! The students were taking standardized tests today, and so I read off the directions and monitored them as they took the tests (okay, so not that much interaction, but its still something!). What I thought was really cool was that I was mistaken for a substitute today! My cooperating teacher stepped outside the classroom for a minute, and then another teacher walked a student into my classroom. The teacher that walked the student in said "Oh, you have a sub today." as she dropped off the student. That makes me feel good, because if other professionals in the field take me as another professional, then I'm doing my job in presenting myself the right way. 

Well, off to more homework! YAY!
