I'M A JUNIOR IN COLLEGE!
What? When on EARTH did that happen? Well, it is true.
I promise that there is a reason for me not blogging much...it's called LPII and a GPA to be proud of. :-)
LPII was a "journey" as a part of EDN330 (a course for teaching the exceptional child). Long story short, I developed 2 days of a unit that was later accommodated to several different learners with different needs. This lovely journey took about 5 weeks to complete and was in addition to my 4 inch back breaker...I mean binder...that was filled with resources for teaching students with all different needs! I worked incredibly hard in the class and on the lesson, so it truly felt great to finish with a bang. Here is a shout out to my LPII group and the whole EDN 330 class!
Although I only took 3 classes this term (one was with a lab, so I didn't want to go on overload), I definitely still had a ton of work to do! All of my classes had multiple large projects and a few had quite a bit of preparation for each day. So, as you can tell, I was a little bit busy!
The last few days of this term have been bitter-sweet. Over the last four days I have had to say good-bye to some incredible friends and residents, all while closing Student Village for the summer. Today was the RA banquet, which was the final official gathering of the staff I am a part of, the SeagerVille Staff! Attached above is our first and last group picture. We are a pretty great looking staff. :-) There is no doubt, I will miss this staff and the bro-love associated (being one of two females alongside 8 males, if you can only imagine). Here's to a great year, SVU!
For now, I am finishing packing up my room, putting the final touches on my summer class, and getting ready to start a new job for the summer. I have retired from the Lifeguard chair (sniff), but have expanded my horizons to a more child-based area...Day Care! I'm sure that I will learn and grow as an educator while working with the kids at the center. I will be with infants all the way to 12 year olds! Also, I'm hoping that this experience will help me decide what age range I am going to certainly focus on when applying to Student Teach (yep. that application is already due in 3 months!). I enjoy teaching all ages of students, but there is definitely a special place in my heart for Middle School students. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted!
Have a safe and memorable summer. I'll be posting throughout break, so be sure to keep an eye on my blog!
