Did that catch your attention? I most recently watched A Christmas Story about 12 hours ago, and it was FABULOUS!
It is currently D-Term, or December Term, and I am taking this opportunity to catch up on sleep, friends, and family. Fall was an incredibly busy time for me, and I apologize for neglecting to blog. I taught many lessons to my 5th grade class and I presented several projects during my classes. And then, as the term came to an end and I finally was ahead on my work, my hard drive crashed! I think fate came in to play because my last project, a 10-page research paper, was the last thing I was working on. I had not recently backed my information to an external hard drive (GO GET ONE IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!) and a friend was planning to read over the 60% completed project. I rejected and told him that I wanted to work another half hour before sending it to him. He told me I should just send it before he went to sleep. I sent the paper and within 10 minutes, my hard drive stopped functioning. I was devastated, but relieved to know that my paper was on another computer, so I could continue working. In the end, I completed all of my work and after getting my computer repaired (two weeks later!), I can type again. :-)
Now, in the midst of D-Term, I'm watching holiday movies, listening to music, reading, shopping, and simply enjoying life. I am still on campus, fulfilling my RA contract, but am fortunate to be close to home and able to visit often. Now, do not get me wrong, I have not stopped working. I am balancing two jobs plus tutoring at this time, but the stress of a strict daily schedule has dropped significantly. We all need a break sometimes, right? Though, to have some fun, I'm excited for Scrum at Midnight (an NCC event) and gingerbread house making! I'm not going on any of the off-campus trips, like The Blue Man Group or the Blackhawks game.
Now, I'm off to enjoy some holiday music in the dining hall before I make more door decs. Enjoy week 1 of D-Term! It's flying already!
