It's Going to be WEEK 6?!

Hi Readers!
I apologize for my recent negligence in terms of blogging.  I have been completely focused on classes and work, not to mention a few moments to breathe!

So, I have some exciting news: on Friday, I taught my VERY FIRST LESSON!  I am observing in a 5th grade classroom and taught a lesson on hurricanes.  The students were receptive to my plan and everything just went so well!  I’ll teach my second lesson, Pearl Harbor, on Monday.  Wish me luck!  The only negative to my practicum experience, is that my immune system decided to take a couple of extra snow days, and now I’m pretty sick...hence my blogging on a Saturday night.
Snow days...ah...the joy.  NCC closed for 42 hours this week!  This has not happened for several years, and I believe that it is a period of time that will last in the archives.  Now, you may ask, how did I spend my snow day?  Well, I slept in (9 hours total. new record!), ate with some RAs in Kman, did some homework with friends, watched the Notebook WHILE doing homework, played in the snow, and then relaxed with a little bit more homework.  The snow drifts outside of Student Village were almost as tall as me.  I couldn’t believe it!  I have attached a picture of my friends, Liz and Derek, after Derek was shoved in the snow.  Oops!  Also, I want to say THANK YOU to all of the maintenance/grounds staff/everyone else who helped to keep sidewalks and streets as clear as possible.  Also, to Kman chef/staff that stuck around through the storm so all of us residents could continue to eat.  Without everyone’s help, this campus would have been a complete disaster.  So, Thank You!

Due to my terrible cold and the extremely low temperatures, I went to Meijer last night and bought a humidifier for my room.  I cannot believe that I have lived without one of these for so long...it is incredible!  I would definitely suggest that everyone invests in one of these bad boys if you haven’t already!
I suppose that should be all for now.  There is a comedian on campus tonight...I hope that I can muster enough energy to go and watch the performance!

Also, a quick shout out to Amanda, my good ‘ole roomie!  I’m so glad that we were able to get breakfast last week!  ...There is just something about having a freshman year roommate...you might not get to talk for several weeks, but once you reconnect, it’s like nothing has ever changed!

Have a stellar weekend, everyone!
