Friday was interesting. Lazer tag with some folks, followed by hanging out with said folks and painting my fingernails at 3:30 in the morning on a quest to stay up and catch a 5:30 train, a quest I completed successfully (unlike the week before when I fell asleep at 2:30 and didn't wake up until 7). The picture does a very good job of representing just how hideous it looks.

The weekend was filled with band practice and a trip to Guitar Center where I got some really nice earplugs, which is good because I'm playing with ESM and Strongman on Saturday night. I'm pumped. It'll be ESM's live debut (save for that time at Chrisbob's backyard) and the first time ESM will play in front of people with two guitarists.

I laid down some bass for an EP I'm working on last night in Res Rec. I played fingerstyle, which is something I don't do often, as I'm not really a bassist. Playing fingerstyle is something I haven't done since I tracked the last Dead on Both Shoulders release. My right thumb, index, and middle fingers still feel like they're gonna fall off. It was five songs and a couple hours of tracking, and I'm covered in blisters/reforming callouses. I'm not even using any of those fingers to type this; it's pretty brutal.

Also, I'll very likely be moving back to the south side this week. Hopefully my nomadic ways will cease after this. The nail polish on my hand is beginning to chip. I only painted the left one. I used to paint my left hand (save for the thumb) four different colors since those are my guitar fingers. Who knows, maybe I'll start doing that again.
