New Year's Resolution

I don't know how everyone else feels, but break went by incredibly fast. But, it was still amazing. I was able to spend a lot of time catching up with family and friends, hanging out, and just relaxing. Relaxing is something that I wasn't able to do Fall term, I went from class to work to homework to practice in all different orders from sun up to sun down. It was extremely taxing on my body, both emotionally and physically. I didn't get to do much beyond those four things, in addition to all the other little errands I would have. When I look back on that, I wish it could have played out differently.

That's why in 2012, my New Year's resolution is not going to be any of those cliché things like losing weight, saving money (well maybe I should work on that one), being nicer, etc. My New Year's resolution is to not be so serious all of the time, to be more spontaneous, and to be more involved at NCC. Our studies are extremely important, after all the goal is to be able to get as much knowledge and as many life skills as we can before facing the real world once we graduate. I don't plan on compromising that. But, these four years are a once in a lifetime experience. We only get one chance to experience everything that NCC has to offer in addition to academics. We only get one chance to enjoy every moment. Because when I look back, I don’t want to regret anything about this experience. I’m going to attend as many events as I can. I’m going to go out with friends more. I’m going to become more active in the clubs in which I am a part of. I’m going to enjoy my time at NCC more than I ever have before.

So, don’t just delete that involvement email you get at the beginning of each week. Take a minute to read it. Take a couple hours to go meet new people, see familiar faces, and simply have a good time.
