The Rec’in Crew: We Will WRECK You

Hi, Readers!

So, there is some exciting news on the home front.  The ResLife staff of Res/Rec is AWESOME!  We were recently named champions of the RA Olympics, and above is a picture of the Crew.  (Also included is a slightly more normal picture of our staff during open mic night) (Shout out to Alex Pirela and Ryne Rezac who were at football practice for both of these!)  The RA Olympics are not what one might assume.  Events include Dodgeball and trivia amongst others.

In all seriousness, all of the RAs are moved in and some have been here for two weeks already.  I have been here for one week, and we are about to start week two of training.    Our days usually start around 9am, and the end time varies.  One night we were up working with and meeting Campus Safety until 12:15am.  Another night, my staff was done with the day around 8pm.  So, students, parents, faculty, and staff, please remember how hard the RA staff is working to be prepared for school!

Most halls have bulletin boards and door decs already complete!  Unfortunately, I am currently without my hall.  After a few switches this summer, I have been moved to the fourth floor of Res/Rec, and as most of you know, the fourth floor was not completed when the building opened for service.  Due to the fact that the desire to live on campus has grown so much, the construction crew has been working endless hours (trust me. I’ve heard them upstairs!) to complete the project in time for move in.  I am currently living on the second floor, but will hopefully be able to move into my room in the next few days.

Well, that’s all for now.  I have to head out for my first training session of the day.  For those of you already on campus, welcome back!  And, for those of you still enjoying summer days, savor every single one, but get excited because in a few weeks we’ll all be back on campus!
