Robyn Miskyska earns Diane Duvigneaud Senior Art Award

Robyn Miskyska was awarded the Diane Duvigneaud Senior Art Award for exceptional growth and creativity in art during 2013 Honors Day.

Robyn Miskyska, daughter of Linda and Mark Mikyska of Downers Grove, Ill., was awarded the Diane Duvigneaud Senior Art Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College. This award is presented to a North Central student who demonstrates exceptional growth and creativity in art.

A senior, Robyn has a double major in studio art and psychology at North Central College. She is a graduate of Downers Grove South High School.

North Central College students showcase talent in Senior Art Show

The 2013 Senior Art Show features the diverse body of work by North Central College art seniors, May 10-June 10, in two gallery locations.

The 2013 Senior Art Show features the diverse body of work created by North Central College art students, who will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in studio art or art education.

The exhibit is free and open to the public in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. An artist reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 31; complimentary refreshments will be served.

Christine Rabenold, North Central College assistant professor of art and student art gallery director, displayed four ceramic pieces in an exhibition titled “Redefined” at Spring Street Studios in Houston. Her artwork was part of the Concurrent Independent Exhibitions at the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference held March 20-23.

“The Long Road” features wood sculptures, ceramics and mixed media artwork by seniors Jesse Barr of Oswego and Jeremy Thurlby of Montgomery. The exhibit runs April 8 through May 3 in the Meiley-Swallow Hall Gallery, 31 S. Ellsworth St. An artist reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19; complimentary refreshments will be served.

All pieces displayed in “Digital Design” are computer-generated and include print posters, motion graphics and animation created by seniors Amber Dvorak of Schiller Park; Tanya Fetzer of Richmond, Ill.; Samantha Suarez of Romeoville; and Sarah Wilm of Westmont. The exhibit runs April 6 through May 3 in the Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St., Naperville. An artist reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9; complimentary refreshments will be served.
