Oesterle Library features new lobby exhibits

The scholarship of President Troy Hammond and publications by various members are featured during winter term in the Oesterle Library lobby exhibits.

Each term Oesterle Library presents new and timely exhibits in its lobby. Winter term’s exhibits feature the scholarship of Dr. Troy Hammond and publications by various faculty members.

Community Publications
As Dr. Troy Hammond begins his tenure as the College’s 10th president, a special exhibit will showcase his scholarship throughout his career.

J. Charles Eldridge '65

J. Charles Eldridge was inducted into the Ottawa Township High School Hall of Fame, which recognizes excellence in achievement while a high school student, after leaving the high school or a combination of both. Eldridge is professor of physiology and pharmacology at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. At Wake Forest he has served as the principal instructor of endocrine physiology and pharmacology for classes of medical and physician assistant students.

Thomas Kauffman '71

Thomas Kauffman is a doctor of dental surgery in Atlanta. He has been involved in dental health care for 38 years. After graduating from North Central, he received his D.D.S. from Loyola University in Chicago. Kauffman completed his general practice residency in the U.S. Army Dental Corps and opened his own private dental practice in 1977.

Curtis Herink '72

Curtis Herink is a professor of mathematics at Mercer University in Macon, GA. He has been teaching college mathematics full time since completing his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1977.

Beth E. Hothan-Zielinski '77

Beth E. Hothan-Zielinski, M.D., is a general surgeon and owner and president of Surgical Services of Mount Pleasant. She graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School in 1981 and from St. Francis Medical Center in general surgery in 1986. She resides in Mount Pleasant, IA, with her husband James and two children, Patrick and Riley.

Maureen Oskandy '79

Maureen Oskandy, M.D., is a board-certified family physician for the Campus Health Service at the University of Arizona. She has worked with the Indian Health Service (IHS), had a full-spectrum family practice for eight years at Thomas-Davis Clinic and taught medical students for 15 years. After graduating from North Central, Oskandy received her M.D. in 1982 from Loyola-Stritch Medical School in Chicago.

Jessica Kozelsky '09

Jessica Kozelsky is a registered nurse at Rush University Medical Center. She also graduated from Rush and its Generalist Entry Master’s (GEM) program. She may be reached at jdkozelsky@hotmail.com.

Kevin A. Brown '86

Kevin A. Brown received a Pacesetter Award as the lead of a project with five other co-workers at Argonne National Laboratory. He has been a coordinating writer and editor and has served the laboratory since 1989. He resides in Plainfield, IL, with his wife Michele T. Murray ’86/M ’95 and their two daughters.
