Rogene A. Buchholz wrote a book titled “Reforming Capitalism: The Scientific Worldview and Business.” It examines the role that the traditional understanding of science plays in how we understand the capitalistic system and how it informs business and business school education. It’s a companion to “Rethinking Capitalism: Community and Responsibility in Business,” published in 2009. Both books are published by Routledge. The Princeton Review has once again named North Central College a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges.

The Princeton Review has once again named North Central College a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges.

North Central College is among a select group of institutions nationwide highlighted by The Princeton Review in “The Best 377 Colleges, 2013 Edition.”

Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is based on the Princeton Review’s surveys of 122,000 college students. The Princeton Review began surveying college students and publishing its findings in 1992.

May 22, 2012—Amanda Marek of Bridgeview was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Management Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Marek is a junior with majors in management and entrepreneurship/small business management and minors in finance and economics at North Central College. She is the daughter of Patricia and Steven Marek and is a 2009 graduate of Oak Lawn Community High School.

May 22, 2012—Samuel Jaros of Naperville was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Economics Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Jaros is a senior with majors in four areas: mathematics, finance, economics and actuarial science. He is the son of Gary and Nicholette Jaros and a graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School.

North Central College selects Peter Bulandr Jr. as the Outstanding Senior Man and Mary Caron as the Outstanding Senior Woman for 2012.

North Central College recognized Peter Bulandr Jr. as the Outstanding Senior Man and Mary Caron as the Outstanding Senior Woman for 2012 during the College’s annual Honors Convocation on May 15.

The annual awards recognize one senior man and one senior woman for their successes in the classroom, their involvement and contributions to the campus community outside the classroom, and their future potential.
