The Princeton Review has once again named North Central College a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges.

North Central College is among a select group of institutions nationwide highlighted by The Princeton Review in “The Best 377 Colleges, 2013 Edition.”

Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is based on the Princeton Review’s surveys of 122,000 college students. The Princeton Review began surveying college students and publishing its findings in 1992.

June 21, 2012—North Central College’s Summer Musical Theatre presents the rarely performed Gilbert and Sullivan farcical operetta “Princess Ida” July 10-15.

Five performances will be staged at 7:30 p.m. July 10-14 and at 2 p.m. July 15 in North Central’s theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Music education alumnus joins staff of performing arts school in St. Charles

Mike Krieglstein, a 2010 music education alumnus, has joined the staff of the Vero Voce School of Visual and Performing Arts in St. Charles.

Musician Mike Krieglstein, a 2010 music education alumnus of North Central College, has joined the staff of the Vero Voce School of Visual and Performing Arts in St. Charles as a guitar and bass teacher, the Aurora Beacon-News reported.

More than 200 Naperville-area teachers gathered at North Central College June 18-22 to learn from some of the nation’s leading experts on literacy education.

More than 200 Naperville-area teachers gathered at North Central College June 18-22 to learn from some of the nation’s leading experts on literacy education.

The College partnered with Naperville Community Unit School District 203 to present the weeklong symposium, which provided teachers the opportunity to learn about the latest trends and best practices for teaching reading and writing to children in grades kindergarten through high school.

The North Central College Women’s Chorale travels to Ireland June 12-19 on second tour abroad, along with music faculty and Chorale alumnae.

Some 36 members of the North Central College Women’s Chorale embarked on the ensemble’s second trip abroad, to Ireland, June 12-19. The women traveled to Dublin, Galway, Killarney and Bray and gave performances in historic cathedrals like St. Patrick’s in Dublin and enjoyed seeing the spectacular Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and the Ring of Kerry.

Kateri Tumminello of Lindenhurst, Ill., was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Music Education Award during Honors Day May 15.

May 22, 2012—Kateri Tumminello of Lindenhurst, Ill., was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Music Education Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Tumminello is a senior majoring in music education with a minor in psychology. She is the daughter of Ronald and Wendy Tumminello and a graduate of Lakes Community High School.
