North Central Trustee was a caring mother, sucessful entrepreneur and business leader, a friend of the arts and a generous benefactor of North Central.

North Central College Life Trustee Judy Stevenson will be remembered for being a caring mother, a successful entrepreneur and business leader, a friend of the arts and a generous benefactor of North Central College and many other causes.

Stevenson died Monday, June 28, 2010, after a long battle with emphysema and related illnesses. She was a fifth-generation Napervillian.

Ramona Wis, Mimi Rolland Professor in the Fine Arts and chair of North Central's music department, is presenting her paper “Reframing Leadership” today at Northwestern University as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Center for the Study of Education and the Musical Experience (CSEME). CSEME brings together music education faculty, doctoral students and center fellows to examine contemporary issues and foster collaborative research on music teaching and learning.

June, 2010—A star-studded lineup of classical, jazz and contemporary artists fills the 2010-2011 Fine & Performing Arts Season at North Central College.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Frankie Valli, Blues Traveler, Ramsey Lewis, Rachel Barton Pine, the Vienna Boys Choir, David Sanborn and Del McCourey with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band are just a few highlights of North Central College’s most sensational season to date.

For its final concert of the season, the Concert Winds will honor its seniors, perform a selection of standard band music and feature flutist Alicia Zimmerman ’12, North Central’s Concerto Concert Winner. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, in Wentz Concert Hall. Tickets are $5/adults, $3/students and senior citizens and free to North Central students. Zimmerman is the youngest student to win the 2010 Concerto Contest. A health and physical education major, she has performed in three honors recitals and the Rall Symposium.
