At North Central, Hollister was a College Scholar and presented research at the College's Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research and at the 2011 National Conference for Undergraduate Research, which was held at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y.

North Central College presents the triple Tony Award-winning comedy “God of Carnage” directed by senior Christopher Corrigan May 5-7.

Three performances will be staged at 7:30 p.m. May 5, 6 and 7 in the College’s Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $5/adults and $3/students and senior citizens; call the North Central College Box Office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix. This production contains adult language and may not be suitable for younger audiences.

North Central College’s Science Center reached new heights during its construction when the campus community celebrated the hoisting and placement of a ceremonial final steel beam during a Topping-Out Celebration March 14.

Traditional among ironworkers, the ceremony is sometimes called Capping Off, or Topping Off, or Topping Out. Regardless, said President Troy D. Hammond during his remarks, “It’s a significant construction milestone that we’ve reached only because of the dedication and hard work of many, many people.”

A five-year master leadership studies student, Lexy Schwarzwalder ’16 was awarded the Gregory Lee Smith Exemplary Blue Key Member Award and scholarship.

Alyxandria “Lexy” Schwarzwalder ’16/M ’17 recently received a national award and scholarship at the National Blue Key Honor Society conference. On the academic fast track to pursuing leadership roles in the nonprofit sector, Schwarzwalder is pursuing North Central College’s five-year master leadership studies degree as part of the College's Leadership, Ethics and Values (LEV) program. After she completes her B.A.

North Central College presents “Fragments: A Theatrical Dance Experience,” featuring the College’s theatre students Jan. 28-30. It is choreographed and directed by Dmitri Peskov, a member of North Central’s dance faculty and a Chicago-based dancer, choreographer, actor and poet.

New Verandah course takes students behind the scenes at Chicago’s leading public relations firms, gives opportunities to network and explore career options.

“It’s all about finding a career that fits you,” said Skylar Krople ’17 after attending the Publicity Club of Chicago PR Career Day with her North Central College classmates. “I learned there are lots of opportunities to create whatever you want because the public relations industry is constantly changing.”

From Ravinia to the Chicago Cubs, North Central students applied their classroom knowledge to exciting internship opportunities this summer.

When students join the North Central College community, they also connect with endless internship opportunities in Chicago and the Naperville area. These students found summer experiences at prestigious organizations like the Chicago Cubs, Ravinia and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory to build their résumés and prepare for their careers. Their internships rank among the highlights of their college careers.
