Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is based on the Princeton Review’s surveys of 122,000 college students. The Princeton Review began surveying college students and publishing its findings in 1992.

The College partnered with Naperville Community Unit School District 203 to present the weeklong symposium, which provided teachers the opportunity to learn about the latest trends and best practices for teaching reading and writing to children in grades kindergarten through high school.

June 13, 2012—One of the perks of being Illinois Teacher of the Year is throwing out the first pitch before a Cubs game at Wrigley Field.

North Central College alumnus Josh Stumpenhorst experienced his day at the Friendly Confines on Tuesday, June 12, before a night game versus the Detroit Tigers. Stumpenhorst attended with his wife and their two young children, who were excited to meet Cubs pitcher Alberto Cabrera.

“Cabrera just talked to my boys and signed a ball,” Stumpenhorst Tweeted before the big moment. “They are in heaven.”

May 21, 2012—Lucas Steidinger of Loves Park, Ill., was awarded the 2012 Clarence Juhnke Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College. The award recognizes the outstanding student majoring in music.

Steidinger is a junior majoring in music education with a focus on instrumental music and a minor in secondary education. He is the son of Bruce and Kay Steidinger and a graduate of Harlem Senior High School.
