Vince Vieceli '89

Vince Vieceli co-authored the book “Stand-Up Comedy in Chicago,” which explores comedy clubs that exploded onto Chicago’s nightlife scene in the 1970s and 1980s and the comedians who took their stages. The book boasts more than 200 pictures, some of which were previously unreleased. Now retired, Vieceli’s own stand-up career began after covering a Dennis Miller performance for the North Central Chronicle in February 1989. “I interviewed Dennis (Miller) after his show, wrote my review and, as luck would have it, the Chronicle came out that week so I sent him a copy,” Vieceli said.

Alumnus Don Pilmer ’87 has been promoted to executive vice president and head of commercial banking with Aurora-based Old Second Bank.

North Central College alumnus Don Pilmer ’87 has been promoted to executive vice president and head of commercial banking with Aurora-based Old Second Bank.

A lifelong Aurora resident, he began his banking career at Old Second more than 20 years ago and has spent the majority of his service in commercial banking and branch development.

Pilmer earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications from North Central College where he also contributed to The Chronicle campus newspaper. He later earned an M.B.A. from Aurora University. He is
