North Central College Group Process class projects help raise funds for nonprofit causes and teach teamwork and decision-making skills to students.

For North Central College students in a Group Process class, their coursework is all about service learning and real-life experiences. It’s the best way to learn teamwork and practice decision-making skills, says Amy Buxbaum, associate professor of speech communication who designed the service-learning project for the course.

Students in Group Process class showcase fundraising efforts March 11

North Central College’s Group Process (SPC 214) class will host presentations about their fundraising efforts for local charities.

Students in North Central College’s Group Process (SPC 214) class, taught by Hillary Shulman, assistant professor of speech communication, will give group presentations March 11 about their fundraising efforts for local charities.

The groups will present at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, in Madden Theatre. The campus community is invited to attend this free event, and students from the class have invited contacts from the local organizations and charities to attend, too. A dessert reception will follow the presentations.
