Robyn Miskyska earns Diane Duvigneaud Senior Art Award

Robyn Miskyska was awarded the Diane Duvigneaud Senior Art Award for exceptional growth and creativity in art during 2013 Honors Day.

Robyn Miskyska, daughter of Linda and Mark Mikyska of Downers Grove, Ill., was awarded the Diane Duvigneaud Senior Art Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College. This award is presented to a North Central student who demonstrates exceptional growth and creativity in art.

A senior, Robyn has a double major in studio art and psychology at North Central College. She is a graduate of Downers Grove South High School.

A new tradition—inviting alumni back to campus to talk informally with students—was incorporated as part of programming for Honors Day and the Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research this year.

“Our alumni are an untapped resource for our students and I’m excited about inviting them back to share their experiences with our science students,” said Professor of Biology and Roger and Nadeane Hruby Professor in the Liberal Arts and Sciences Stephen Johnston as he welcomed two North Central College alumni from the class of 2005.

That was the advice North Central College students and others heard May 15 during the keynote address at the College’s 15th annual Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research from professor, pharmaceutical researcher and North Central alumna Heather Carlson ’91.

Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research welcomes two noted scholars, cancer researchers, professors and North Central alumni as keynote speakers.

May 5, 2011—Each spring, North Central College celebrates and recognizes top student scholars and their academic achievements with a daylong event called Honors Day. The 2011 Honors Day takes place Tuesday, May 17, and includes the 14th annual Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research in the morning and the 35th annual Honors Convocation in the afternoon.

Sunny Gill is Outstanding Senior Man

North Central College has named Sunbir "Sunny" Gill of Westmont, Ill., Outstanding Senior Man, the highest award presented to a member of the class of 2010.

June 2, 2010--North Central College has named Sunbir "Sunny" Gill of Westmont, Ill., Outstanding Senior Man, the highest award presented to a member of the class of 2010.

Gill will graduate June 12 with a major in psychology. He is the son of Sunita and Balbir Gill of Westmont and a graduate of Westmont High School.

The Outstanding Senior Man award was presented in May at North Central's Honors Convocation, an annual spring event that recognizes student excellence in academics and co-curricular activities.

North Central College invites the community to join students, parents, faculty and staff for the College’s annual Honors Day and Cornerstone Day celebrations.
