North Central College to honor Maria Wynne, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, with a 2012 Outstanding Alumni Award.

North Central College is honoring Maria Wynne of Chicago with a 2012 Outstanding Alumni Award.

Wynne and five others will be honored during the College’s Homecoming Convocation at 4:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at North Central College’s Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville.

Trustee, alumna Maria Wynne honored as Chicago executive of the year

Trustee and alumna Maria Wynne is being honored by the Public Relations Society of America Chicago chapter.

North Central College Trustee Maria Wynne, a 1977 alumna of the College, is being honored by the Public Relations Society of America Chicago chapter as Chicago Executive of the Year.

Wynne is CEO of the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. In announcing the award, the group noted that under Wynne’s leadership the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana has experienced a 1 percent membership increase, defying a national trend of decreased membership for first-year merged Girl Scout councils.
