Murawska leads workshop

Jackie Murawska, adjunct instructor of mathematics, led a workshop at the Metropolitan Mathematics Club of Chicago Conference.

Feb. 18, 2011—Jackie Murawska, adjunct instructor of mathematics, led a workshop titled “Investigations Using Inductive Reasoning: Adding Excitement to the Standard Curriculum” for middle school teachers at the Metropolitan Mathematics Club of Chicago (MMC) Conference of Workshops on Feb. 5 in Lincolnshire, Ill. This is Murawska’s third year as half-time faculty in the mathematics department.

College hosts national math contest for junior high students

North Central College will host a testing site for the American Mathematics Contest 8 (AMC 8) for students in grades 8 and below.

Sept. 28, 2010--North Central College will host a testing site for the American Mathematics Contest 8 (AMC 8) for students in grades 8 and below. Students who are either home-schooled or enrolled in area junior high schools are invited to participate. The contest will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the College's Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St., Naperville.
