North Central’s political science department presents TIP Talks

North Central College’s political science department will focus its first Topics in Politics (TIP Talks) lecture of the year Sept. 25 on the theme of violence.

In celebration of Constitution Day, North Central College’s political science department will host its first Topics in Politics (TIP Talks) lecture of the year from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St.

Forty North Central College students studying political science saw their area of study in action when they attended the annual Midwest Political Science Association national conference, which took place April 11-14 in Chicago. Senior Rima Gungor was among a select group of students to present.

Suzanne Chod, assistant professor of political science, discussed Tuesday's election results on the CBS2 Chicago "Morning News" program Wednesday morning.

Chod talked with CBS2 Chicago anchors about results of the Republican presidential primary in Illinois. She also addressed a question about why some politicians accused of corruption continue to win the support of large numbers of voters. Video of her appearance is posted on the CBS2 Chicago website.
