Model UN students represent Equatorial Guinea at national conference

Students enrolled in winter term’s Model UN class attend National Model UN Conference in New York City, hold briefing with Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea.

Nine students enrolled in the winter term Model UN class attended the five-day National Model United Nations Conference in New York City in April and represented the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. They joined more than 2,500 students from five continents and interacted with delegations representing countries from all over the world in a simulation of what takes place at the United Nations.

William Muck: Sharing His Enthusiasm

It took just two years for William Muck, assistant professor of political science, to endear himself as a favorite teacher among North Central College students. He was named the winner of the 2010 Dissinger Award for Junior Faculty with enthusiasm and endorsements.

Muck and Mashuli co-author online op-ed

William Muck, assistant professor of political science, and economics major Etienne Mashuli ’13 co-authored an op-ed piece on international NGO website.

William Muck, assistant professor of political science and coordinator of global studies, and Etienne Mashuli ’13, economics major, co-authored an op-ed piece about the Robin Hood Tax campaign that was posted on the website of an international NGO focused on global poverty. Their comments about the proposed Robin Hood Tax, a small fee on all global financial market transactions to raise money to help fight poverty, were made in the context of the recent G20 Summit in Seoul, Korea.
