This year’s techFest program for faculty and staff includes a variety of technology-related workshops, including ones that cover recording and editing of video and audio, and utilizing audio and video for websites, Facebook pages or email attachments. Other sessions focus on designing posters, newsletters and better spreadsheets, mapping a trip, giving a presentation and organizing events. A workshop on mobile computing will be co-led by President Hammond. All sessions will be held in Carnegie Hall.

Students interested in learning about the 2011 D-Term study abroad opportunities are invited to attend information sessions Thursday, Feb. 24, in various classrooms in Goldspohn Hall. The sessions will take place from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. and students can attend as many as they want.

Students can choose from a record number of 10 programs that will visit 13 different countries during the College’s D-Term in December 2010. If you missed today's information session, the next one will be held Tuesday, April 13, in Goldspohn classrooms. The courses are available to all undergraduates, even first-year students in fall 2010 are eligible to enroll in some. New D-Term courses this year include studies in India, Turkey, Spain, Northern Ireland, Peru and Rome. Repeat offerings include Brazil, London and France.

During D-Term, several students traveled to Germany as part of their course titled Exploring Berlin, Germany: A Cultural, Multicultural and Historical Treasure. It’s time for students to sign up for D-Term’s Verandah courses. These informal learning experiences connect students and faculty outside the framework of the traditional classroom in workshops or activities and provide creative opportunities for students’ personal and academic development.
