The Dixie Swim Club, a comedy about five Southern women, opens for five shows, Jan. 14-17. Their friendships began during college and are renewed yearly at a special getaway. The play showcases the College’s many actresses, says director Deborah Palmes, professor of theatre and chair of the Division of Arts and Letters. Originally written for five females, Palmes incorporates 15 student actors in a creative way. Written by three comic playwrights, The Dixie Swim Club will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 14, 15, 16, and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Jan. 17 in Madden Theatre.
