Eddie Rogers ’00 is a singer at heart who knows his Chinese, which he learned at North Central. He competed in China’s version of American Idol—Super Boy 2010, a reality singing contest produced by Hunan TV to find the next male singing sensation in China.
Audience voting advanced him to the next round, which was quite a feat considering the other winners were Chinese and Rogers is an African-American who has perfect Chinese diction, thanks to his North Central Chinese instructor Annie Liu, who was also present at the event.
