Learn flamenco dance moves Jan. 17

Returning to campus this winter are flamenco dance classes for beginners, taught by Jelena Sanchez, adjunct instructor of Spanish and an expert performer of this highly expressive Spanish dance form. She will lead classes each Monday during January and February, from noon to 1 p.m. in Heininger Auditorium. Participants will learn the basics of arm and body movements and footwork.

The next class will be held Jan. 17. Classes are free to the North Central community and $5 to the public. For more information contact Sanchez at jsanchez@noctrl.edu.

Recent graduate and elementary education major Jill Bushman ’10 was featured in The Beacon-News Aug. 24 on her first day of teaching 29 fourth-grade students at Aurora’s Oak Park Elementary School. Throughout her four years at North Central, Bushman was involved in Junior/Senior Scholars as a tutor, mentor, team leader and summer intern.
