College hosts popular band, concert for special needs families

North Central welcomed the band Los Lonely Boys to Wentz Concert Hall July 1 for a private afternoon concert for underprivileged and special needs families. The concert preceded the band’s evening performance at the Naperville Exchange Club’s Ribfest. The Exchange Club had given tickets for the special concert to area groups it supports, such as NCO Youth and Family Services, Metropolitan Family Council and Loaves & Fishes Pantry. The free concert was made possible by North Central trustees David Kelsch and Ray Kinney.

Faculty and staff are invited to celebrate the end of the term and enjoy food, art and music Friday, March 12, in Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center. Attend a Gallery and Artists Reception from 6 to 8 p.m. in Schoenherr Art Gallery, followed by a concert at 8 p.m. in Wentz Concert Hall featuring eight of the College’s internationally known jazz faculty artists. Your guest is welcome too. Free appetizers and drinks will be served during the Gallery Reception.

Just in: Tickets for faculty and staff to the Saturday, Jan. 16, performance of Chicago Sinfonietta are free. This 8 p.m. concert in Wentz Concert Hall will mark the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with an unforgettable performance of “The Dream Lives On: Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.”  The Chicago Sinfonietta is the nation’s most diverse symphony and will conclude the concert with audience participation of the spiritual “We Shall Overcome.” Faculty and staff still need to reserve a seat; call the box office at 630-637-SHOW (7469).
