North Central celebrates Hispanic and Latino cultural heritage on campus

North Central College invites multicultural involvement on campus with a series of events celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

North Central College’s multicultural life on campus is expanding this fall to incorporate a larger celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Though the College promotes many other Hispanic and Latino involvement opportunities throughout the academic year, Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 is devoted to a campus-wide celebration of various Hispanic cultures.

Hannah Kramer, daughter of David and Cathy Kramer of Aurora, was awarded the Outstanding Major in German Award for two consecutive years, in 2014 and 2015, during Honors Day ceremonies at North Central College in Naperville.

A graduating senior, Hannah majored in German at North Central College. She is a graduate of Rosary High School.

Empowering. In one word, Deana Guarino ’15 describes her volunteer experience in Uganda with Pangea Educational Development (PED)—a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainable education.

After graduating from North Central College in June, Guarino hopped on a plane to Entebbe, Uganda, to volunteer with PED for two weeks. PED works with communities in Uganda to improve schools, stimulate the local economy and empower leaders.
