GE has promoted North Central College alumnus Munesh Makhija to managing director of its India Technology Center and CTO of GE India.

General Electric (GE) has promoted North Central College alumnus Munesh Makhija to managing director of its India Technology Center and named him chief technology officer (CTO) of GE India.

Makhija will be based at the John F. Welch Technology Center in Bangalore, where he will oversee GE’s India technology team of more than 5,000 engineers and scientists. The facility is GE’s first and largest integrated multidisciplinary research and development center.

Lou Groce ’11/M ’14, former graduate assistant to the sports information director, has landed a new job—one that’s perfectly suited for him.

Starting May 7, he’s the new director of media and information for the Midwest Conference (MWC), similar to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), but with 11 member institutions. He will handle all sports information duties for 20 sports among all the schools, manage the conference website and promote the MWC brand through various forms of written, visual and social media communications.

Registration is underway for a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level courses that often can be applied toward graduation requirements at a student’s home institution. Class sessions are offered in four- and eight-week terms, starting June 16. The second four-week term starts July 14.

North Central College has named Pamela Monaco, Ph.D., as dean of graduate and continuing studies. In this role, she will oversee the admission, marketing and further development of current and new graduate programs, including applications of technology for instruction.

“North Central has great potential for growth in graduate programs and this was very exciting to me,” says Monaco. “I see a great opportunity to build on the programs that are already in place and taught by faculty with strong credentials and experience.”
