Francine Navakas—Svend and Elizabeth Bramsen Professor in the Humanities, professor of English, director of integrative programs and associate academic dean—was part of a panel presentation titled “Weaving Global Education throughout the Institution” at the Annual Meeting of the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). Held Jan. 26-29 in San Francisco, the conference was titled Global Positioning: Essential Learning, Student Success, and the Currency of U.S. Degrees.

North Central College is offering a new option to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a master of leadership studies degree in just five years.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 16, 2010)—North Central College is offering a new option to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a master of leadership studies degree in just five years.

Students accepted into this program earn both a bachelor’s degree—in any discipline—and the master of leadership studies with the completion of 141 credit hours.

Graduate students enrolled in the new Administration of Higher Education class are learning their lessons from a real pro. Preparing these aspiring future leaders in higher education is Gary Ireland, now director of student development and assistant dean of students.

Formerly the College’s dean of students, Ireland is now sharing his 25 years of experience by teaching graduate-level classes and mentoring graduate assistants. Most of the students in his fall term class are specializing in the new higher education leadership track within the master of leadership studies program.
