North Central College student ensembles to perform in Fredenhagen Park Saturday

North Central College’s student-led a cappella choral group Sonata Problem and the Cardinal Athletic Band will perform in Fredenhagen Park on Saturday.

North Central College’s student-led a cappella choral group Sonata Problem and the Cardinal Athletic Band will perform in Naperville’s Fredenhagen Park Saturday, Sept. 20, prior to the College’s 6 p.m. home football opener vs. University of Wisconsin-Plattevile.

Sonata Problem will perform at 5 p.m., followed by the Cardinal Athletic Band. Fredenhagen Park is located adjacent to the Bambule Riverwalk Gateway near Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) has hired North Central College alumnus Rafael “Ray” Williams as an assistant coach for its track and field program.

The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) has hired North Central College alumnus Rafael “Ray” Williams '95 as an assistant coach for its track and field program specializing in sprints, hurdles and relays.

Williams was head coach of the track and field and cross country programs at Lincoln University in Oxford, Penn., from 2010 to 2014.

Cardinals host Softball Super Regional series May 16-17

North Central College hosts its NCAA Division III Softball Championship Super Regional series vs. University of St. Thomas (Minn.) Friday & Saturday, May 16-17.

North Central College has been designated as the host site for its NCAA Division III Softball Championship Super Regional series against the 13th-ranked University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Friday and Saturday, May 16-17.

All games in the best-of-three series will be played at North Central’s Shanower Family Field, 435 S. Loomis St. The first game will be played at 4 p.m. Friday, followed by a 1 p.m. start on Saturday. If a third game is necessary, it will be played at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lou Groce ’11/M ’14, former graduate assistant to the sports information director, has landed a new job—one that’s perfectly suited for him.

Starting May 7, he’s the new director of media and information for the Midwest Conference (MWC), similar to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), but with 11 member institutions. He will handle all sports information duties for 20 sports among all the schools, manage the conference website and promote the MWC brand through various forms of written, visual and social media communications.
