May 25, 2010--North Central College seniors Jake Dewar and Bruce Reif will present their original plays as part of the College's Student Director Series. Dewar's "On the Line: A Series of Random Transmissions" is a compilation of original comedic sketches. Reif's "An Evening in Revue" is a short comedic sketch written entirely by the cast using improvisation.

Jazz and Women’s Chorale give final concerts May 19, 20

The Jazz Studies program presents its spring Great Evening of Jazz at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, and the Women’s Chorale will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 20. Both concerts will take place in Wentz Concert Hall. A Great Evening of Jazz will feature Jazz Combos and Chamber Jazz Ensembles led by John McLean, Mitch Paliga, Jack Mouse, Doug Scharf and Frank Caruso; the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Janice Borla; the NCC Big Band and the Jazz Trombone Group under the direction of T.S.

North Central College's Jazz Studies Program will present its spring "Great Evening of Jazz."

May 10, 2010--North Central College's Jazz Studies Program will present its spring "Great Evening of Jazz" on Wednesday, May 19. The concert features all 12 of the College's jazz performing ensembles and begins at 7:30 p.m. in Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago, Naperville.

Performances are free and open to the public and begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 15, in Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Seven seniors who will graduate in June with minors in dance will be featured in the performances. Students have choreographed some of their own performances.

"Lunacy" is an original, never-before-seen musical, premiering at North Central College May 20-23.

May 3, 2010--"Lunacy" is an original, never-before-seen musical, premiering at North Central College May 20-23. The show features actors, ages 8 and up, from the community and an up-and-coming playwright and composer. Based on the classic works of science fiction author Jules Verne, "Lunacy" is the funny, family-friendly tale of a space race that never was.

Created by writer Matt Boresi and composer Jonathon Lynch, "Lunacy" is directed by Naperville resident Susan Craig-Olsen.

North Central student selected to exhibit sculptures at DuPage art show

North Central College senior Tamarra Love was selected to display some of her ceramic sculptures at the DuPage Invitational Sculpture and 3-D Art Show.

The event is free and open to the public and takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Lilacia Park, 150 S. Park Ave., Lombard. The park is located one block north of Maple Street and Park Avenue.

Concert Choir travels Midwest during spring concert tour

North Central College's Concert Choir will give a series of concerts during its spring tour May 12-16 to churches in Illinois and Wisconsin.

April 28, 2010--North Central College's Concert Choir will give a series of concerts during its spring tour May 12-16 to churches in Illinois and Wisconsin.

The 54-voice mixed choir will perform a variety of traditional and contemporary compositions, ranging from J.S. Bach and W.A. Mozart to Eric Whitacre and Benjamin Britten, as well as favorite spirituals, folk songs and gospel selections.

The Senior Art Show will be exhibited in the Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St., and the Meiley-Swallow Hall Gallery, 31 S. Ellsworth St., both in Naperville. Students will greet visitors during an opening reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 16, in both locations.
