“The Long Road” features wood sculptures, ceramics and mixed media artwork by seniors Jesse Barr of Oswego and Jeremy Thurlby of Montgomery. The exhibit runs April 8 through May 3 in the Meiley-Swallow Hall Gallery, 31 S. Ellsworth St. An artist reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19; complimentary refreshments will be served.

All pieces displayed in “Digital Design” are computer-generated and include print posters, motion graphics and animation created by seniors Amber Dvorak of Schiller Park; Tanya Fetzer of Richmond, Ill.; Samantha Suarez of Romeoville; and Sarah Wilm of Westmont. The exhibit runs April 6 through May 3 in the Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St., Naperville. An artist reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9; complimentary refreshments will be served.

North Central College students earned five national awards and more than two dozen total honors during the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) competition March 2 in New York City.

The students are all broadcasters for WONC-FM 89.1, North Central’s student-run radio station.

The exhibit runs March 6 through March 31 in the Meiley-Swallow Hall Gallery, 31 S. As snow falls, students clear away snow, lift spirits

North Central College student-athletes perform intentional acts of kindness across campus, clearing off snow-covered cars, encouraging others to do the same.

During a recent snow storm, members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) were outdoors brushing off snow from cars parked in campus parking lots. These good deeds were done without fanfare but some students were caught in the act.

After students brushed snow off a car, they left behind a customized ice scraper with a business card encouraging car owners to pass along a similar act of kindness.

Karen Hill wins Cleo Tanner Award for Outstanding Contributions to North Central’s women’s athletics during National Girls and Women in Sports Day Celebration.

Karen Hill was honored as the College’s eighth Cleo Tanner Award winner for Outstanding Contributions to North Central College Women’s Athletics on Tuesday, Feb. 5, as part of the 27th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day Celebration.

Hill was named North Central’s head coach in 1977 for both the women’s basketball and volleyball teams, or half the women’s varsity athletic programs, and made significant contributions during her six years as coach. Read more.

Thirteen North Central College broadcasters representing WONC-FM 89.1, the College’s student-run radio station, earned 26 nominations in the annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) competition. Winners of the Golden Microphone Trophy Awards will be announced March 2 at the 73rd Annual IBS International Radio/Webcast Conference in New York City.
