2007-2012 Strategic Plan
In the life of North Central College, there are many moments when students, faculty, staff and trustees come together to reflect upon the mission of the school and plan for the future, but none more systematic or comprehensive than the strategic planning exercise we engage in every five years. The resulting document is less a “plan” in a formal sense than a statement of who we are—collectively—and who we aspire to be. It is a distillation of the voices of many individuals and constituencies coming together around shared hopes and dreams for the college.
Although special emphasis in this plan has been placed on measurable outcomes, and specific milestones along the way, the ultimate test of its strategic worth will not be a check list of accomplishments, but how the consensus and enthusiasm of the planning process serves the institution as new (and perhaps unanticipated) opportunities and challenges arise in the year building to the College’s Sesquicentennial in 2011-2012. What is most striking in the goals and objectives of this plan is the confidence and the fundamentals which define North Central’s approach to learning and personal growth. It says, quite simply, that the best path to long-term success is to stay on mission.
