8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Welcome to North Central College

8:45 to 9:40 a.m. Introduction to Your Orientation and First-Year Experience

In this session, learn about the schedule for the day as well as what you can plan for in the coming year. This is also your chance to meet some of the students that will be in your First Year Seminar in the fall.

9:45 to 11:40 a.m. Session Rotations:

Group Advising

Meet with your FYE Advisor as well as First Year Mentor to receive an overview of the curriculum and prepare to select courses.

Foreign Language Placement Exams and Take Your Student ID Photo

11:45 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Lunch

Enjoy lunch in our campus dining hall with your family members and orientation group.

12:45 to 4:20 p.m. Session Rotations:

Small Group Meeting With Your FYE Academic Advisor

Meet with an Academic Advisor to create your fall term schedule.

Technology Training & Registration

Learn how to use your campus email address and other campus systems and register for your fall term classes.

First Term Experience

Involvement during your first term is critical for your success in college. Learn about opportunities available to help you become engaged on campus as well as receive a to-do list that will carry you through December.

Sample Class

This serves as taste of a college class. Some of North Central’s best faculty members will lead you in discussions similar to those you will find in your classes this fall. Get ready to participate!

4:20 - 5:00 p.m. Resource Fair and Dessert Reception

More than 20 campus offices and programs will be on hand to share information about each of their programs. While you are there enjoy a sampling of desserts and learn about the Cardinal Camps, our optional pre-Welcome Week opportunities. All of their contact information, as well as information about the rest of the offices on campus, is found in the back of your Information Central book.
