North Central College Fund
A small liberal arts college (then located in Plainfield, Illinois) opened its doors on November 11, 1861, for the first day of classes and a college was born. Since then, North Central College has transformed the lives of thousands of students, equipping them for lives of service and success. What a promising start!
We just celebrated the first 150 years and now let’s build on that promising start. The North Central College Fund is the solid foundation for all of the College’s fundraising initiatives and will support the three goals of the Sesquicentennial Campaign. Goal 1: Sustaining a beautiful campus with physical enhancements to the south end and central campus, which will refresh the campus and the Naperville community. Goal 2: Sustaining excellence in students, faculty and staff by increasing support of endowed faculty chairs and student scholarships. Goal 3: Sustaining a great science tradition with a new science center that will enable North Central to build on its long and proud record of producing renowned scientists and doctors.
The North Central College Fund goal this fiscal year is to raise $1.55 million (and increasing that by $100,000 each year for the next five years) from 4,500 donors. Donor participation is significant because foundations and corporations support colleges through grants based on their donor participation. Strong donor participation also makes it possible for publications such as U.S. News and World Report to continually rank North Central College among “America’s Best Colleges.”
You are an integral part of North Central’s history. Please join in celebrating the “school we love” with a gift to the North Central College Fund. Your gift will benefit the entire campus community by providing support for scholarships and financial aid, classroom instruction, faculty retention and student initiatives.
Successful institutions like North Central are built by thousands of individuals over generations. Alumni, parents and friends who support the North Central College Fund year after year place an outstanding liberal arts education within students’ reach. Thank you. We need to make sure the North Central College Fund remains a fundraising tradition for generations to come. 150 Years. A Promising Start … and the best is yet to come!
