Herdis Deabler served North Central College in two different capacities. From 1936 to 1945, he was the personnel director. From 1946 to 1949, he was professor and chair of psychology at North Central. Over the years, Deabler was chief psychologist at various hospitals and mental health clinics across the United States. He belonged to many professional organizations and wrote numerous articles that were published in a variety of clinical psychology journals.
