Thomas Babler '69Religious studies alumnus
“Everything that happened at North Central College prepared me to fulfill my calling. My teachers opened the Bible to me in new ways. They challenged me to think critically about what I believed and to be courageous and speak up for my beliefs. The chaplains brought all kinds of speakers and people to campus. They expanded the whole world for me and were amazing experiences. I developed deep roots at this school and they have nourished me through 40 years of pastoral ministry. Over the years, I’ve encouraged students to attend North Central and I regularly support the school as a member of the President’s Club.”
Thomas Babler graduated from North Central in 1969 with a major in religious studies and from Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1973 with a Master of Divinity degree. He’s the pastor at United Church of Sandwich in Sandwich, IL, and previously was senior pastor at Community United Methodist Church in Naperville for 15 years.
