Bulandr selected to receive NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

North Central College’s Peter Bulandr ’12, an economics and finance major, was selected as one of 58 fall student-athletes across all three divisions from the 2011 season to receive a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The scholarship program promotes and encourages education by rewarding the Association’s most accomplished student-athletes. Bulandr was named CCIW Defensive Player of the Year in football.



Students travel nationwide to serve, build, sing

During North Central College’s spring break, more than 100 students will travel across the country on service trips, choir tour organized by the College.

During North Central College’s spring break, March 14-25, students will travel across the country through trips organized by the College. Some 65 students will participate in a variety of service trips and another 50 will be on tour with the Concert Choir.

Student radio broadcasters claim awards at national competition

Twelve student broadcasters for WONC-FM 89.1, North Central College’s student-run radio station, brought home four first-place awards in national competition.

Twelve student broadcasters for WONC-FM 89.1, North Central College’s student-run radio station, brought home four national first-place awards in national competition from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS).   

The first-place Golden Microphone Trophy Awards were in four categories: Best Newscast, Best Community News, Best Sports Play-by-Play and Best Station Promo.

The exhibit is free, open to the public and on display in the Meiley-Swallow Hall Gallery, 31 S. Ellsworth St. Students Jessica Brewster, Robin Gadient and Giuseppe Pellicano will greet visitors during an artists’ reception from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 13; complimentary refreshments will be served.
