Washington Street resurfacing work to begin Tuesday, Sept. 4

The North Central College community may be impacted when the City of Naperville begins resurfacing work on Washington Street from 5th Avenue to School Street.

The work is expected to begin Tuesday, Sept. 4., and will result in intermittent lane closures that will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route to avoid delays along the stretch of road that is slated for completion in mid-October.

Two alumni who died within the past year—Al Benedetti '48 and Shaun Wild '11—will be honored during a pregame ceremony. The Cardinals face the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Tickets are $6/adults and free to students with a valid ID and to children ages 3 and under.

The Princeton Review has once again named North Central College a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges.

The Princeton Review has once again named North Central College a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges.

North Central College is among a select group of institutions nationwide highlighted by The Princeton Review in “The Best 377 Colleges, 2013 Edition.”

Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is based on the Princeton Review’s surveys of 122,000 college students. The Princeton Review began surveying college students and publishing its findings in 1992.

Men’s basketball team returns from game, travel in Italy

The men’s basketball team traveled to Italy this summer for a chance to compete internationally and see some of Italy’s great historical sites. During the 2011-2012 season, the men tied the school record with 22 wins, making the school’s deepest postseason run in the NCAA tournament.

On the basketball court, the reigning CCIW champions played an afternoon game on Aug. 4 with the Ostia Sharks professional team in Rome. The Cardinals (photo, light jerseys) pulled away from the Sharks, 98-72, in a competitive game. A second game in Florence was canceled.
