Richard Schmack '77

Richard Schmack was elected DeKalb County state’s attorney. He has been a practicing attorney for 31 years; 27 years were spent in Sycamore, IL, at his law office. Prior to opening his own law office, Schmack served as an assistant state’s attorney under DeKalb County state’s attorney Philip L. DiMarzio. After graduating from North Central, he received a juris doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Law School. He resides in Sycamore with his wife Jackie.

Lisa Shulman M ’07

Lisa Shulman M ’07 was named chair of the special education department for Oswego High School in 2011.

Ruth Kesselring Royal '61

Ruth Kesselring Royal published a compilation of letters she and fellow alumna Beryl A. Brinkman ’62, who passed away in 2007, exchanged while involved in the Peace Corps. Royal’s book, titled “Never Gonna Cease My Wanderin’: Letters Between Friends,” (Peace Corps Writers, 2012) gives insight into the Peace Corps when it first began, the Philippines in the 1960s and the developing friendship between the two women. The two met while attending North Central. They began exchanging letters while Royal was in the Philippines, continuing this tradition throughout the 1960s.

Eric Friedle '04

Eric Friedle was named president of Publisher’s Diversified Mail Service, a family-owned marketing solutions company. He is a third-generation officer and has worked full time with the company since 2010. Friedle oversees all operations, including supervising staff, managing finances, developing marketing campaigns and working directly with customers. Prior to joining Publisher’s, he worked at ODW Logistics in Waukesha, WI, handling a wide variety of shipping and ordering duties.

Curtis Hudson '88

Curtis Hudson was named principal of Charles Reed Elementary School in Plainfield, IL. This is his sixth year in Plainfield School District 202. He resides in Aurora, IL, with his wife and daughter, age 4.

Jessica Goerke '10

Jessica Goerke is an academic coordinator for the Georgia Institute of Technology football program. She is responsible for overseeing the eligibility requirements and degree completion of student-athletes by coordinating tutoring sessions, creating learning objectives, conducting study sessions and providing student-athletes with academic advising. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Akron in 2012.

Curtis Herink '72

Curtis Herink is a professor of mathematics at Mercer University in Macon, GA. He has been teaching college mathematics full time since completing his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1977.

Marcella Marquez Dulka '00

Marcella Marquez Dulka is supervisor of Ecolab’s Global Knowledge Sharing (GKS) for the Naperville site. She is responsible for the supervision of support staff, business, industry and competitive intelligence, operations, collection journal subscriptions, vendor negotiations and literature research. She has been with Ecolab, formerly Nalco Company, for 28 years.
