Doug Pawlik '09

Doug Pawlik accepted his Actors’ Equity card last spring while a part of the production “I Love Lucy Live on Stage” at the Broadway Playhouse in Water Tower Place in Chicago. He spent May in Cambridge, MA, at the American Repertory Theater with The Hypocrites’ original adaptation of “The Pirates of Penzance.” The show moves on to Actors Theatre of Louisville, KY, in January. He performed at the Arranmore Arts Center in the outdoor concert series titled “Cabernet Cabaret” on the Arranmore Polo Grounds in Oswego, IL.

Danielle Bank ’06, North Central College career counselor, was awarded the Illinois Small College Placement Association’s (ISCPA) Professional Development Scholarship. The ISCPA consortium is a group of 23 small private liberal arts colleges and universities within Illinois that leverage their combined student and alumni populations to attract outstanding employers to major recruiting events hosted by the ISCPA, such as Fall Interview Day and CareerFest.

Erin Hinckley is pursuing a master’s degree in public health from Saint Louis University in St. Louis.

Scott Oltman is pursuing a master’s degree in epidemiology at the University of Iowa.

Sandra Coughlin '09

Sandra Coughlin was appointed principal of Glenbard South High School and assumed the position on July 1. Coughlin has been Glenbard East High School’s assistant principal for instruction since 2011 and had worked in the Glenbard District for 17 years. “South has an excellent academic reputation with dedicated students and staff, and I look forward to building upon that standard of excellence through leadership and communication,” she said. Prior to becoming Glenbard East’s assistant principal, she was Glenbard District 87’s literacy and Title I coordinator from 2007 to 2011.

Alexis Smith '12

Alexis Smith was selected as one of 18 Distinguished Graduate Student Fellows at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). She has been conducting research in Louisville, KY, as a Master’s Thesis Fellow at the Filson Historical Society. Smith intends to graduate in May 2014 and pursue a doctorate.

Kristen Dunlap-Berg '10

Kristen Dunlap-Berg completed the Belle H. Bennett House program at Scarritt-Bennett Center in Nashville, TN. The 10-month service program focused on the empowerment of young women. The four young women in the program lived in intentional community while practicing spiritual formation and vocation discernment and engaging in social justice efforts. Each woman also interned at a local nonprofit. Dunlap-Berg spent her time at Book’em, a Nashville childhood literacy organization, where she learned about a small nonprofit business.
