The public is invited to enjoy a free performance featuring two of the world’s greatest Highland bagpipers and a U.S. champion snare drummer at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 1, in North Central College’s Koten Chapel at Kiekhofer Hall, 329 E. School St., Naperville.
The 90-minute performance features 11-time world-champion piper Alasdair Gillies—voted by the readers of Piper & Drummer magazine as the 20th century’s greatest piper—multi-world champion piper Brian Donaldson, and U.S. and Midwest champion snare drummer Andrew Hoinacki.
The three performers are at North Central College June 27 through July 2 as instructors for bagpiping and drumming classes administered by the Balmoral School of Piping & Drumming. Since 1978, Balmoral School has held week-long bagpiping and drumming classes every summer at various campuses throughout the United States. This is Balmoral School’s fourth year at North Central College.
