North Central College alumnus Eric Ilich ’04 has been named football coach at Hoffman Estates High School, the Daily Herald reports.
Ilich, who majored in physical education K-12 at North Central, has been an assistant football coach at Bartlett High School. Prior to being the North Central Cardinals' quarterback in 2004, he was quarterback for the first two years of Naperville’s Neuqua Valley High School in 1998-1999.
He told the paper he’s looking forward to his first job as a head football coach.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to work at Hoffman Estates and build the football program,” he told the Daily Herald. “It will be a challenge but it’s one I’m ready for and I’m prepared for.
“For the kids it will be about commitment and the willingness to be the best football players they can be. The part that really gets me excited is I feel there is so much potential at the school and so much support.”
