Erica McCauley was awarded the 2011 Outstanding Major in French Award during Honors Day May 17 at North Central College.
McCauley is a graduating senior who is double-majoring in French and global studies at North Central College. She is a graduate of Minooka Community High School.
While at North Central, she studied abroad in France during fall 2010 and worked with underprivileged people in Nairobi, Kenya, during a service trip during summer 2010. This spring, McCauley helped organize an on-campus event project called “One Peace, One Love” that was the culmination of a human rights campaign known as Project Liberation, a combined effort of the College’s Blue Key National Honor Society, International Justice Mission and Leadership, Ethics and Values program.
She also volunteered at a Wisconsin camp that serves children with special needs, stage managed a student theatrical production of “The Diary of Anne Frank” and presented research at the College’s Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research.
