Kristen Robledo was honored with the 2011 Outstanding Major in Elementary Education Award during Honors Day May 17 at North Central College.
Robledo is a graduating senior majoring in elementary education at North Central College with a focus on teaching under-achieving students in high-need schools. She is a graduate of Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox.
While a student at North Central, Robledo particated in the Junior/Senior Scholars program, which provides opportunities for future educators to tutor, mentor and work with children from high-need areas in Chicago and Aurora.
