Oct. 12, 2011—Ray Odom, a 1997 graduate of North Central College, has joined WRXQ-FM 100.7 as host of an evening show on the Coal City-based rock station.

Odom, better known as “Crazy Ray,” was featured on Chicagoland Radio and Media, which recounted Odom’s previous tenure as overnight host on “The Loop,” WLUP-FM 97.9.

“He developed a large, loyal following, as many midnight shift jocks tend to do,” Chicagoland Radio and Media wrote. “In addition to playing classic & new rock hits, some quick parody songs by ‘Crazy Ray and the Asylum’ would get occasionally worked into the mix. The songs further showcased his wacky sense of humor and helped connect him to the overnight fanbase.”

While at North Central, Odom majored in broadcast communication and was active at WONC-FM 89.1, North Central’s student-run radio station.
