Nov. 15, 2010—Howard Mueller of Oswego, Ill., has joined the North Central College Board of Trustees.
Mueller is serving a two-year term as trustee in his role as president of the North Central College Alumni Association Board of Directors. Mueller succeeds Lloyd Krumlauf, head men’s golf coach at North Central and a 1973 alumnus.
Mueller, a 1958 graduate of North Central, is Dr. C. Federick Toenniges Professor of Religious Studies, Emeritus. Long regarded as one of the College’s most exceptional teachers, Mueller was honored as “Outstanding Educator of the Year” in 2004 by the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation. He taught in the religious studies department at North Central College from 1976 to 2005. Upon his retirement, the College recognized Mueller’s contribution as a teacher by naming the Dr. Howard Mueller Classroom, a new space in the then-newly renovated Kiekhofer Hall.
North Central College is governed by a Board of Trustees currently composed of 36 active trustees.
